The ‘Do’s’ and ‘Don’ts’ of a Groom’s Speech
|Plan what you’re going to say and the people you want to thank that have helped made your day possible.
|Become too intoxicated
|Speak clearly, i.e. project your voice.
|Share bucks party stories or those referring to ex-girlfriend’s and the like.
|Make eye contact where possible.
|Forget to mention parents/ in-laws/ bridal party.
|Pay attention and thank/ respond to those that have spoken before you.
|Be on your mobile phone as others are speaking about you.
|Be sincere & original, i.e. speak from the heart.
|Use a Google speech template; everyone is doing it and everyone is sounding the same.
|Talk about your wife in a way where no one in the room knows the things that you do.
|Swear/ use foul and vulgar language.
